How to identify CIA officers

[edit]

Mr. Marks also published a journal article on how to identify CIA officers in the State Department's "Biographic Register" of foreign affairs officials, as a result of which that annual publication was classified in subsequent years. Does anybody have any further details on this episode, sufficient to add a paragraph about it to this article? The article in question was published in the Washington Monthly, November 1974, titled "How to Spot a Spook." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.103.1993.18 (talk) 02:05, October 18, 2008 (UTC)

I don't but I encourage you to do an extensive search and find out more. --Loremaster (talk) 20:47, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, that article is available here: https://cryptome.org/dirty-work/spot-spook.htm and here is an article that briefly mentions the episode: https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1979/12/05/diplomatic-titles-often-used-to-protect-intelligence-aides/e57eec6c-e41e-4e6d-b193-1ebab1341dad/ <> Alt lys er svunnet hen (talk) 21:29, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
