RE: "Also, Craig "was the first Englishman to work out" the theory of progressive taxation."

This unattributed sentence is entirely false. Not only was he not the first "Englishman" to discuss progressive taxation, it was a common talking point amongst Foxite Whigs in the 1790s generally, he was also not an Englishman. He was born in Glasgow to a Glaswegian merchant and the sister of his later teacher John Millar.
