John Clarkson

[edit]

It's very fitting that this man should have his own unique page in this encyclopedia, instead of being a mere footnote in his brother, Thomas Clarkson's article. And especially apppropriate, as Simon Schama's documentary Rough Crossings on BBC TV (this Friday, March 23, in the UK) will be about John's contribution to the campaign against the slave trade. – Agendum 18:57, 20 March 2007 (UTC) Also the people were able to vote because, Clarkson didn't want to be the only one over the land as governor in Freetown. As a result of this, women and men were able to vote. After that, Clarkson went back to his coutry never to be seen again. Clarksons' dream of the settlers being free became a reality. 12:15, 17 February 2008.[reply]
