This article reads like a eulogy and is almost completely devoid of references. I've little doubt Mr. Dent deserves a wiki bit, but please, folks, let's not have it written by his great-grand-daughter. West Coast Gordo (talk) 04:07, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Under the heading "References" we now say,
"This article contains material from the Prefatory Sketch found in The Gerrard Street Mystery and Other Weird Tales."
That 5-page preface is signed "R.W.D." and "Toronto, Oct. 25th, 1888." Apparently it is written by someone in the Dent family. --P64 (talk) 20:58, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
