Son of Sir John Brockett?
[edit]The supposition that John Brockett, the colonist, was the disinherited son of Sir John Brockett is based on a single source, a book published by Edward Brockett in 1905, that cites family tradition as the basis for this information:
This is flimsy evidence in genealogical terms. No subsequent research or evidence supports this theory. DNA evidence and other research does, however, discredit it.
In simple terms, John Brockett's birth and origin are unknown but estimated to be in 1612 or 1613. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samp4ngeles (talk • contribs) 05:11, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
My great-grandfather John Koetteritz was co-author of the genealogy and I have long said it's based on poor historical and scientific methods. Jbrockettm (talk) 03:44, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
