In my opinion, this article either lacks sufficient Attribution that it satisfies the Notability criteria for Biographies, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it is a Copyright violation.
Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources to verify any claims of notability. Even though the lack of reliable source attribution in an article is not grounds for deletion in itself, an article with absolutely no sources (or only external links to unreliable ones) suggests to some editors that multiple reliable sources may not, in fact, exist.
Although I am considering tagging this article for deletion according to the Deletion policy, perhaps User:Pedro258 (talk · contribs), or other recent contributors to this article, will make some constructive improvements to it ... I do not have time to examine this article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.
Please respond on this Discussion page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation. — triwbe (talk) 05:38, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have added some links to save from deletion. Can someone add inline refs please ?--triwbe (talk) 06:12, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Date confusion
[edit]Was the Birmingham Star discovered in 1866 or 1881 and who was the "leading British astronomer"? Biscuittin (talk) 08:05, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Birmingham star
[edit]I can't find any reliable evidence that there is a star named after John Birmingham. Galway Astronomy Club has written about "Galway’s Forgotten Star: John Birmingham" [1] and I think this has been misinterpreted as star (celestial body) when it actually means star (celebrity). Biscuittin (talk) 15:59, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Nationality?
[edit]According to this [2] John Birmingham was English. Biscuittin (talk) 16:18, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
