Controversies section
[edit]The following was part of the Controversies section:
- In 2006, Adler voted in favor of a New Jersey needle exchange program that would allow drug addicts to exchange their used needles for new ones.[1]
Without a source opining that Adler's vote on this bill was controversial, there is no reason to list it under the Controversies section. Indeed, calling it controversial would be a violation of Wikipedia's on points of view (WP:POV). If anyone can find a source calling it controversial, feel free to add it back in and cite the source. ~ Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 14:56, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
- I think it should be in the article to indicate his position on an issue of national interest, but the Controversies section should be left to discussions of ethical matters, conflicts of interest, etc. (If, for example, he was receiving campaign contributions from some organization or company that stood to gain from the needle-exchange program, such as by having a contract to manufacture or distribute the needles, then it would be appropriate there.) 66.234.218.146 (talk) 15:57, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
- I think "controversies" as a header itself often inserts POV where really there is none. If he has a conflict of interest, then "Conflict(s) of interest" would be a more appropriate header. I am going to take a swing at editing the controversies section now, but certainly would appreciate somebody else taking a shot as well. Arbor832466 (talk) 17:44, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
