Are you sure you understand the article? Should I repeat the name of Frederick III, Prince of Salm-Kyrburg in the next sentence? All the information is on the German Wikipedia, although a lot is unclear about his background and the early years in Dutch service, so I skipped it. I only translated the beginning of the article in German on which I worked for many weeks; the rest is already mentioned under Prussian invasion of Holland.
This article is only a few hours old and deals with a misinterpretation. For more than 100 hundred years Dutch historians never checked German sources to begin with and Pierre de Witt, who studied the collection of papers of his ancestor Jan de Witt (1755-1809), and H.T. Colenbrander. Olaf van Nimwegen has doubts but also confused.
I never added an infobox, it is not my thing. A lot of people seem to like working on boxes, go ahead. Thank you for your concern.Taksen (talk) 16:29, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Taksen (talk) 17:15, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
