[edit]This does not seem to be NPV. Appropriate referencing and more specifics would help this. (ie - who considers him one of the best surfers, has he won any awards/prizes?) --Ladybirdintheuk 14:25, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Added external links to back up "one of best surfers" assertion. Can we now pull the "not NPV" template? ;-)
Also, is it appropriate to cite a video documentary as a reference? - particularly relevant for a skill that can only be appreciated visually! And how do I cite a video without being "commercial"? --Ian Page 02:09, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
He also has made 2 Sector Nine Longboards. Maybe that should be included as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.191.252.35 (talk) 22:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Who is Roth Allen? Can you add a citation for that? I haven't been able to find any sources that correlate this statement, though I have heard the criticism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.83.101.23 (talk) 22:20, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
That Roth Allen comment needs to be taken down. I can not even google his name. This critism of Joel Tudor must have been written in a random blog somewhere and now gets copied without questioning across the Internet. Wikipedia should be better quality than this. I have surfed all of my life. I was in a Surf Movie with Joel Tudor, Siestas & Olas. I know that Joel is one of the best and has proven that fact through contests, photos and watchhing as much as anyone in the sport. He is underrated. This is because he uses nonstandard equipment, riding anything anywhere. If he always rode standard equipment on standard contests, He would have even more recognition. His godlike balance and ability should never be so easily discredited from one random comment on a blog somewhere that can't even be verified in any way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DCardella (talk • contribs) 16:48, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
