Emergency Members
[edit]There are constant references to "The Emergency" and "Joel Plaskett and the Emergency." These are incorrect. The band is called "The Joel Plaskett Emergency." I think maybeit just refers to whoever happens to be backing him up at the time, but I can't be sure. --Tellybelly 05:02, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Bassist
[edit]Who is the bassist of The Emergency? I thought it was Ian McGettigan, and that Tim Brennan was the Ex-Bassist. Can anyone shed some light? Horsman 06:51, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- This is correct. According to the liner notes, Ian McGettigan in the bassist on Make a Little Noise, but on previous albums Tim Brennan is listed as the bassist. Not sure when the change occurred. Certainly Ian McGettigan has been heavily involved throughout, previously having been listed as a guest artist and album producer (along with Joel). Paul W. 04:56, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Appeal
[edit]I dont get it? What is appealing about Joel Plaskett? Sure he promotes Canada and has an unpolished sound & feel... but seriously? Someone please enlighten me. Dozens 14:30, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
- He has a great sound, is one of the best songwriters around and plays excellent live shows. You either like him or you don't I geuss. Horsman 17:57, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
- I have fallen deeply in love with Joel Plaskett in the last couple of months! I think he is an intelligent songwriter / musician. The best thing about Joel Plaskett is his sense of humour and how that is evident in his songs. Come On Teacher is Hillarious! Oh ya and his patriotism is a big turn on! A Separate Article for The Joel Plaskett Emergency?
[edit]I suspect that we should be making separate articles for Joel Plaskett and for The Joel Plaskett Emergency, just as there are different articles for Dave Matthews and the Dave Matthews Band. What do you all think? Paul W. 05:06, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, especially since Plaskett performs both solo and with the Emergency. Strobilus 21:01, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

External links
[edit]Per WP:EL, the external links section of a band or musician's article is not meant to become an exhaustive web directory of every webpage that can be found with Plaskett-related content — it's meant only for the two or three most centrally important artist-specific websites. The following links have accordingly been moved here. They can be readded to the article as references for specific statements of fact within the article, where appropriate, but are not suitable as direct ELs.
