SPF and/or DKIM

I think SPF would help... This may be part of 'sender authentication', but ISTM it should be mentioned separately. --Bobbozzo (talk) 20:56, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

SPF, DKIM, DomainKeys, and DMARC are anti-spoofing technologies that would help combat the historic forms of joe job (spam sent to bystanders with forged From or Reply-To headers that elicits responses), but they would only help the intermediary bystanders and not the intended victims. Also, as understanding of spam has increased since 1997, this form of attack is no longer effective. Modern joe job attacks are merely targeted backscatter and would not be helped by these anti-spoofing standards. -- Adam KatzΔ 18:25, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
