NPOV

[edit]

I removed this;

In November 2010, the Cubs announced a plan to float government-backed bonds to pay for renovations to historic Wrigley Field [1], which has come under scruitiny due to among other things the current state of government debt and Ricketts' political activity (a noted Tea Party supporter/ small government advocate), a political position which puts his attempt to have government intervene on his business-behalf at odds with his stated political views.

it lacks a cite and does not seem NPOV. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 03:33, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conservative

[edit]

Nowhere in the article does it mention that Mr. Ricketts champions conservative causes. In fact, one sentence characterized one of his political organizations as "nonpartisan." Would it still be NPOV to accurately note that he supports conservative causes?75.72.93.99 (talk) 12:20, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1) I've moved this to the bottom of the page's comments block, in line with normal chronological listing.
2) If the comment is correct about what's in the article, I'd say it's appropriate to find a source and add the characterization of Mr. R's political leaning. Swliv (talk) 17:25, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Citework" & templates

[edit]

"Citework" is what I call the grunge work of looking up citations and creating footnotes in the form I understand to be standard. This article has lots of presumably good citations but most, still, are lacking "full form" footnotes. I'll probably chip away at it but I welcome any help; and hope that going forward maybe we can upgrade-as-we-go, eh?

... &, encountering it more and more these days, I'll make my first effort here to address the mega-block of (yes, handsome, but) annoying, impersonal ... "templates" (they're called) up top of this Talk page. I don't think they are welcoming or encouraging to an editor who comes (in person; v. bot?) to the Talk page to talk about the article. They're intrusive in a guilty-until-proven-innocent way. Put them at the bottom of the Talk page? Or in a small "utilities/contents" kind of box to the upper right? Or in an expand-if-you-want long-thin header box? Those are not a bad ideas, off the top of my head. I'm just thinking "aloud" here; it's not my specialty. Any other thoughts? Cheers.
