Fair use rationale for Image:Joepalooka1949.jpg

[edit]

Image:Joepalooka1949.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Ann Howe

..a play on the term "and how", I wager...and 'tis the a.k.a. of a current adult video 'star'. I expect she harvested it from the strip 'cause it provokes the up-market style, so sought after by such actresses ! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Resolution Man (talkcontribs) 22:18, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ken Kesey and tsk, tsk

[edit]

If "tsk, tsk" is not pronounced "tisk, tisk", then how is it pronounced? Varlaam (talk) 08:35, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Put your wet tongue in place to make the T sound and then breathe in, letting your tongue disengage. Kdammers (talk) 07:21, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mixed Martial Arts

[edit]

There's no mention of Joe's MMA career. http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/index?id=7211892 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.111.38.226 (talk) 19:47, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of "palooka"

[edit]

It means "stupid" in Hawaiian. There is also an Italian word that I heard today on a Perry Mason episode, "The Case of the Sad Sicilian" (1965), "pelucha" that sounds fairly similar. It means a stuffed animal and is apparently somewhat insulting. Wastrel Way (talk) Eric Wastrel Way (talk) 22:12, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Image useless

[edit]

Some time ago there was a change to the way illustrations on Facebook are processed. One of the outcomes of this is that very often you cannot view them at a useful magnification. Opening the image in a new tab never works. Opening the link of the image in a new tab sometimes works, and may be sufficient. Sometimes you can magnify it by clicking on the image. At other times clicking on it actually makes it smaller: the page of the comic shown here is one of these. It might as well not be here. Koro Neil (talk) 00:38, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
