A fact from Joe Kraker appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 18 October 2022 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Hello again. This is nearly there except that it needs some more in the lead. I've added a few minor things like the location of the paper and the prepend templates. Basically, the lead should include something about Canadian football and perhaps the bit at the end of the article about him not wearing shoulder pads, which is a potential DYK piece.
As far as the GA criteria is concerned, the article is well-written and well-sourced. It's in scope, has a good image and there are no OR or POV issues. The only problem is the lead being short.
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as this nomination's talk page, the article's talk page or Wikipedia talk:Did you know), unless there is consensus to re-open the discussion at this page. No further edits should be made to this page.
... that Joe Kraker was the only lineman in football history to play without shoulder pads? Source: The StarPhoenix ("Other players who accompanied the Rooneys to Canada included Joe Kraker, said to be the only lineman in history to play without shoulder pads")
