Pictures

[edit]

I feel a picture of him playing for Shrewsbury Town as a 16/17 year old would benefit the article - can anyone assist ?

Height

[edit]

He's 6'5" I can't understand why someone keeps changing it back to his height when he was younger. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.163.93.139 (talk) 08:45, 28 April 2011 (UTC) Its been changed back to the wrong figure again, quality stuff, I'm not going to bother correcting it. The most accurate information is undoubtedly going to be on the man city club website and not a world cup website, but hey. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.243.223 (talk) 15:30, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Manchester City website is cited as a reference for his height and it clearly states that he is 6'5". Can't understand where people have got 6'3" from. Trust the club's official website. 94.6.127.15 (talk) 20:26, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, he is NOT 1.96m. In several photos, he he is shorter than Patrick Viera, who is listed as 1.94m. Also, I met Hart at an autograph session, and he was several inches shorter than me (I am 1.98m/6'6"). 1.91m / 6'3" sounds right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.34.55.223 (talk) 14:09, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking as someone, whom... while I am not a friend of his - we do know each other, I would say hes definately 6'5 Football Crazy. (talk) 15:02, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1.96m is a stretch. In no existing picture with anyone else of that height does he seem to be that tall. He is certainly over 1.91m, though. More than likely, he is 1.93m or 1.94m, and is rounded up a inch or so. Noticed that Ibrahimovic is a hair taller in three pictures, so assuming Ibrahimovic is 1.95m, Hart is 1.93m. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.95.133.137 (talk) 18:03, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, he is clearly not 1.96m, albeit still quite tall. I think somebody just rounded him up an inch or so, I think he is a strong 1.93m. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.157.40.101 (talk) 02:52, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

u-21 "goal"

[edit]

Hart has not scored for the under-21s. He scored in a penalty shootout, but penalty shootouts are not counted in goalscoring statistics. Oldelpaso (talk) 13:33, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There were several unconstructive edits in a short space of time. The one by 46.208... was undoing earlier vandalism by 78.147..., so your undoing it put the vandalism back in. Perhaps you mis-saw that edit as adding vandalism rather than removing it? or hit the wrong button and were aiming for one of 188.220...'s edits? Keep up the good work, anyway. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 07:04, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Club career

[edit]

Can you explain Year 11 pupil? Beowulf (talk) 23:09, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've reworded it as "15-year-old schoolboy". Year Eleven is the final year of compulsory secondary education in England, the year in which students reach the minimum school-leaving age of 16. Had Mr Hart been called into a pro team at a younger age, then the school year might well have been worth mentioning, but I think the changed wording is clear enough. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 10:24, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Balance

[edit]

Recent edits have rendered this article unbalanced. Many new additions highlight errors, missed crosses etc with very little attempt to create a balanced view of a long and successful career. Is there an agenda against Hart? If there is, it needs to stop and be redressed.--Egghead06 (talk) 15:04, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't seem particularly bad to me. If any balance needs to be addressed then I would suggest it is to highlight his success, but even then there is a lot more that could be said about his errors that is currently not mentioned as the focus upon him has waned since he left City. Whatever initial success he had, since 2016 there is really nothing positive to be said. A failed excursion to Italy ended in him not being signed despite being functionally available for pennies. He was then underwhelming (politely speaking) for West Ham as they tried to shoe-horn him in place of Adrian (another of our many attempts until finally successful with Fabianski), and then was genuinely woeful for Burnley conceding 41 goals in 20 games or thereabouts, including 2 x 5 goal games, 3 x 4 goal games. Not all blame goes to Hart, but in each instance he made clangers or just failed to make saves that you would expect from an International, made even more obvious by the fact the two keepers he competed with where Internationals themselves. Koncorde (talk) 14:20, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I completely agree with you. It's like someone is only appending the errors he makes, and nothing else. No offense to the people who edit the article, which, by the way, seems well-referenced (since I notice references on every phrase), but there is so much needless hate (not that hate serves any purpose) here, compared to other cases of similar articles. For instance, Karius went downhill way more badly than Hart, but you don't see editors discrediting him like this. Finally, seeing I am only the second one to comment on this, and doing so after more than one year, I am going to add a Template:POV. Nialarfatem (talk) 00:10, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Nialarfatem: It does seem to be journalistic-opinion-taken-as-fact. An editor removed the POV template a few days ago; I've now restored it. - Seasider53 (talk) 19:34, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

goals scored or conceded

[edit]

not Joe Hart specific but wouldn't it make more sense for a goalkeeper to show their overall goals conceded ratehr than scored ? I know then what to do with defenders generally becomes an issue 82.11.163.59 (talk) 13:22, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
