According to the article as it stands, Mr Benton was "elected to serve as a councillor on Sefton Borough Council in 1970." I don't think this is possible. Sefton _Metropolitan_ Borough Council (to which I've currently linked the expression) didn't exist until 1974; is the date wrong, or was Mr Benton possibly on Bootle Borough Council, Southport Borough Council, Crosby MBC, Formby UDC, Litherland UDC, or West Lancashire RUDC?
