I'm adding a notability tag to the article, because simply being a professor at a major university does not automatically mean the person is notable enough to have a Wikipedia article. I don't see anything on the prof's bio page from USC to indicate he meets WP:ACADEMIC (the notability guide for professors). Unless there are articles on this person in reliable sources, such that he meets WP:GNG, I may eventually nominate the article for deletion. I'll give time for others to find sources first, though, and I'll take a look myself before actually nominating. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:21, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't think that's what that means; I had thought (and I certainly could be wrong) that that referred only to prestigious named chairs. Some universities name half or more of their full time positions--that's not enough to grant notability. I'm going to ask for clarification on the project's talk page, since, as I say, I'm not really certain I understand. Qwyrxian (talk) 12:28, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
