Gradual edits to article
[edit]Hello Wikipedians,
I have drafted some changes to this article in my sandbox, and plan to add these changes to the article gradually over the coming week. Most of my changes expand on the existing article, and restructure the article into more sections.
Please feel free to view the changes beforehand, and leave any suggestions. User:JBmerlin/sandbox

Image arrangement
[edit]Hello Wikipedians,
I recently edited this article with the addition of an infobox, and a new image. These changes moved the image Elgvia further down the article. The article is therefore less visually striking, but I think the change is important because the presence of Elgiva so near the top of the article could mislead readers into thinking that it was an image of Boyce herself.
As far as I know, it is not currently possible to use the CSS crop tool for images in the infobox; otherwise I would have added a cropped version of Conversation Piece, which does depict Boyce, in the infobox. If the crop tool is someday updated to allow this, I believe this would improve the article, and I would encourage future editors to make this change.

Infobox removed
[edit]Hello Wikipedians,
Upon reflection, I have removed the infobox, as it made the article more visually confusing, and did not seem to significantly improve the ability of readers to find information quickly. The key information included in the infobox is easily found in the clear and concise overview.

Suggestions for further edits
[edit]Hello Wikipedians,
Having finished a series of planned edits to this article, I wanted to leave a couple of suggestions for future edits, for the use of any editors who may want to improve this article later.
First, I would suggest expanding the section on Boyce's final years, particularly by referencing Sue Bradbury's book Joanna, George and Henry. I was not able to access the full book at the time of editing, but I believe the book would have valuable information on Boyce's later life.
Second, I would suggest expanding the gallery of images, if any editors have access to allowable images of Boyce's paintings.
Third, if any editors are able to find an image of Boyce herself that is of a higher quality than the thumbnail of Conversation Piece, I would highly suggest adding that image alongside the article overview.
Thanks for reading, and good luck with future edits!
