Wording error or defamatory comment?
[edit]I have made a slight but important amendment to the text. It read, "Prone to stage fright which was never apparent to her audiences, she [Joan Sterndale-Bennett] declined several professional opportunities which might well have secured her greater recognition than her abilities deserved" which seems to be either clumsily worded, unkind or even defamatory. The lady is not around to defend her abilities, after all, and there are Wiki rules about such things. The sentence as it was would mean that the actress's abilities were over-estimated 'several' times by entrepreneurs who offering her plum roles, which she turned down. That possibility seems unlikely in as competitive and close-knit a community as that of film and theatre. I believe it more likely that the intention was to say 'as' rather than 'than' as this surely makes more sense, i.e., "...which might well have secured her greater recognition as her abilities deserved". That is how I have amended the wording anyway. Humboles (talk) 23:51, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
