"After Retirement" Section
[edit]According to the Portland Press Herald, in an interview with Joan in advance of the 2008 trials, that race was to be her retirement race. What supports the information here that she retired years earlier?--Doug.(talk • contribs) 19:10, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Joanie hasn't retired yet. The article notes that she competed this year in Maine and she was in Billings, Montana this week doing a clinic and noting that she still runs considerable mileage.Activist (talk) 19:23, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Name change/move
[edit]The article should be under Joan Benoit Samuelson, her married name, which is what she is always called in the news. She registered for the 2008 Olympic trials under "Joan Samuelson" (or they dropped her middle name from the listings). She hasn't been called Joan Benoit since the 80s.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 00:19, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
