- in 1805 (says Miranda and gcatholic.com)
- in 1828 because of "delicatesse de conscience" (say the Biographie universelle, p. 584 and catholic-hierarchy.org.
About being dean of the Rota: According to gcatholic.com and Miranda, but not the Biographie universelle and catholic-hierary.org, he ceased to be Dean of the Rota on the day of his elevation to the cardinalate. This seems quite unlikely (the Biographie universelle specifally says "en sa qualité de doyen de la Rote, il fut fait cardinal par le pape"). Unfortunately there is no mention of his direct successor in the Rota anywhere on the internet.
