The wikipedia notability banner was taken down, but this article still appears not to meet the criteria. Can someone please point to which referenced claim on this page meets which exact item on the WP:MUSIC list? Pdbailey22:56, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I will answer your questioning, he meets at least the following (and I can get exact sources, but right now to immediately rebut this, I am going from memory:
A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria:
2. Has had a charted hit on any national music chart.[1]
4. Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country, reported in reliable sources. (Toured with Creed, Incubus311 and Finger Eleven)[2]
5. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).
(albums can be found on the Jimmie's Chicken Shack page)
6. Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such.
7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability. (Well known person from Annapolis, Maryland)
10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that page.) (He was on the Jerry Springer show and the song "Do Right" was used on many nationally televised broadcasts also featured on MTV)[3]
11. Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network. (CBS radio]] owns WHFS)Had airplay at least on WHFS (before they went spanish/all talk and were a top 10 alternative music rock station.
Excellent work Immunity, this should all help in improving the article, or perhaps the bands article where it might make sense to copy the above text to the discussion as well.Pdbailey15:14, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
