Citation

[edit]

Please would somebody add a citation for his date of death. I know it isn't in question, but it would be nice if there was a link to a newspaper obituary or something of that nature. 76.105.216.34 (talk) 02:44, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Last Git commit

[edit]

Perhaps a link to his last Git commit is appropriate in this case? Rp (talk) 10:55, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That may be helpful in establishing Jim's importance in the Ruby Programming community. However, I believe this would still be seen as a "Primary Source". We need to locate published articles describing Jim's legacy (which would likely include reference to the outpouring of tributes) and then that article could be cited as a Secondary Source. That is, if my understanding of the Wikipedia guidelines is correct - I am not an expert on those so any help is appreciated. Ryan Dlugosz (talk) 14:23, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
For now I have added a link to that github page... Considering GH has set it up as a tribute of sorts it seems to stand on its own as being relevant. I've also added citations to several published books in order to better establish/verify notability. Ryan Dlugosz (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:16, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
