I too am wondering about the tone of this article. I have only altered some details. As an occasional listener, I have heard him express opinions on some popular performers that were not positive. I can say that he sometimes would play audio clips that IMHO gave some justification for his opinion. I have not read the book mentioned, and I don't know how to document my experience and understanding of his opinions adequately. Movie Reviews

Mr. Svejda is not a professional movie critic, just a music critic. Any movie commercial that suggests otherwise would suggest that they have had problems getting quotes from a real movie critic. Although it may not feel like fair use, it is and Mr. Svejda can't prevent it. In his evening program Mr. Svejda often features movie music because in his opinion much of today's best contemporary classical music composition is used in movie scores. --Dgroseth (talk) 02:55, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

I take part of my prior comment back, I just saw the last line of the article and I was unaware that Mr. Svejda was a movie critic for CBS Radio. This should be mentioned in the first summary paragraph, not the last line if it is true. I won't change the paragraph because I don't personally know it to be true.

I also may not agree with some of Mr. Svejda's movie reviews, but I still think any movie that needs to quote the same critic three times is desperate. It is also likely a bad review, without further review of his reasons. However, I do not find the linked article to be an adequate reference for a NPOV article regarding Mr. Svejda. I found the language of that article too inflammatory and inappropriate and inaccurate. Have you or Jim Hill thought that he might actually like 2/3 of the Disney movies? And anyone can quote him 3 times on the same topic? If I pull out 3 similar fair use quotes from this article by Jim Hill, does he also become a 'quote whore'? He does get money from that post. And if Jim Hill gets money from using the work of a 'quote whore' is he a 'quote 'pimp'? Pleas use a more responsible source. --Dgroseth (talk) 19:04, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

The Record Shelf

This article incorrectly states that Svejda's longtime series "The Record Shelf" ended in 2016. I don't know through what channels it is being syndicated now, but it's still being produced by KUSC. In fact I'm listening to it as I write this, between 10-11PM PST, when it regularly airs. I am going to correct the article accordingly. Cheers. TheBawbb (talk) 06:21, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
