There is a statement in the article that Cannon played briefly for Bristol Rovers (in 1988–9). I can, so far, find no reference to this & his stats at the A-Z Soccer database do not show this, but do indicate his move to Croydon F.C., which was not previously included in the article. Discussion on the BBS CPFC forum seems to maintain that the Bristol Rovers reference is an error, although there is some conjecture that Cannon helped out former team-mate & then Rovers manager, Gerry Francis on a non-contract or "trial" basis when the club was in a difficult period. If anyone has a seasonal handbook from the succeeding term (I.e. 1989-90) e.g. Playfair or NoTW/Nationwide, it would confirm whether Cannon did in fact make an appearance.
