The article is all in one block because I had trouble understanding how wiki works. If someone could edit the article and make it look better, it would be nice. thanks

The main problem is the notability criteria under WP:BIO - what proves this person's notability? Baristarim 18:49, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • A quick look at her website reveals that she more than meets Wiki's standards for inclusion. I've tried to work in some of the details and a lot more work and more independent sources needs to be included, but she is clearly not a candidate for Speedy Deletion or AfD. Ok.. At the time of creation none of it was presented and the article was in a bad state with only one paragraph and one external link - WP:BIO states that notability should be presented, not just assumed.. Cheers! Baristarim 19:27, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as the article notes she was born in Montreal, that would make her a Canadian photographer right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.66.192.190 (talk) 04:36, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Her nationality is unknown, but she is constantly referred to as an American photographer, so leaving that, but including her birthplace. BrillLyle (talk) 11:40, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Issues

[edit]

FYI, pretty much the entire first half of the article is ripped from Greenberg's website. http://www.manipulator.com/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.128.62.239 (talk) 05:39, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Going through and stripping the promo / cut and paste stuff and putting in relevant citations to reflect career and work as an artist. Work in progress. BrillLyle (talk) 11:39, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

McCain

[edit]

The Mccain episode is in no way an accurate representation of what happened. It was incredibly controversial to say the least and the current text does not do the episode justice: http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2008/09/about-that-mccain-photo/8825/

For a magazine who hired you on a freelance basis to accuse you of attacking and damaging that magazine cannot be omitted in a description of the episode. It's a whitewash as written now. John McCain trusted The Atlantic and Jill Greenberg did not make it clear that he was doing a photo shoot not only for them, but for her, personally. Photo selection for "End Times" section

[edit]

I replaced the photo with the cover art for the 2013 book of the same name. Using cover art is slightly more in line with Wikipedia tradition and somewhat more resistant to being deleted.

However, some editors may take issue with the use of cover art when it's not being used to identify the article itself or when it's being used to primarily identify the topic the book is about and not the book itself.

My response is that the photo series and everything associated with it, including the book, meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, so there could be a stand-alone article about it. "Forcing" editors to choose between a stand-alone article with an example artwork or a section without artwork is WP:POINTY. If the existing artwork is deleted on the grounds that "cover art can only be used at the top of the page" then I would invite editors to either spin-off the section to its own article and request that the file be un-deleted or (if it was removed without discussion) that they just re-upload a low-resolution version it from here and use it in the new stand-alone article, or that they request that File:Eof 4.jpg (which used to be on the page and which will be orphaned within a week) be un-deleted for use in either this article or a spun-off article or that they just re-upload a low-resolution version of it from here or here, assuming of course that the reasons for deletion for the book-cover image are not obviously applicable to the older crying-child image (which they may be if there is no spin-off article and the reasons for deletion did not focus on the book cover being "official cover art"). davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:32, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
