Logo is out of date
[edit]Hello everyone! I notice that the logo for the JTA is out of date. There is now a modern Yellow/Black logo that is used. I would upload it myself, but I'm afraid I don't quite know how yet.
Jewish Daily Bulletin
[edit]Jewish Daily Bulletin is redirected here. However, there's not a single mention of the JDB in the article! Worse even, according to the LoC (here), the "Jewish Daily Bulletin" was published by its own company, Jewish Daily Bulletin Co. of New York, between 1924-1935. So at the very least, a different legal entity. The JTA website has an article, "The Jewish Daily Bulletin, Smallest Yet Most Effective Newspaper", where the JDB is described as an "achievement" of the JTA, established in 1924 by the same person, Jacob Landau, who was the founder and mgr of the JTA (on his page there's no mention of the DJB either!), but edited by Abraham Abrahams. So the two are distinct to quite a degree, which is also logical: a relatively large news agency must be distinct from a small newspaper, even if the latter only uses material delivered by the former (did it?). Needs fixing. Arminden (talk) 16:51, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for this analysis. I noticed when editing Abel Davis exactly what you noted - that the JTA article has no mention of the work. I'm looking for citations that could support the association. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 00:57, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Looking at the masthead of 1930 paper (here, pg 4, col 1), "Member of Jewish Telegraphic Agency" appears. The question is how to properly a) interpret this and b) source this. Sourcing to a masthead wouldn't be good as that would be a primary source. And what does "membership" in JTA mean, exactly? --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:14, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
