Wikimedia is not a promotional site
[edit]The following paragraph in the "Locations" section has highly promotional language: "The Mandel Jewish Community Center of Cleveland has been serving the greater Cleveland community for more than 60 years and provides programs of exceptional quality for families and individuals of all ages including pre-school and children’s programs, summer camps, fitness, wellness and recreation programming and arts and culture programs. The Mandel JCC is currently in the midst of a transformational $17.5 million renovation and expansion. Anticipated completion date is late 2011."
Note in particular "programs of exceptional quality," clearly a violation of Wikipedia's neutral point of view policies. Moreover, there is nothing in the paragraph to indicate that the Cleveland center is more notable than other JCCs and therefore needing special mention, unlike the one described as being the largest in the US. Once we start adding paragraphs for every center of whatever size, it's going to get out of control. Could someone more neutral than whoever added this paragraph perhaps do some looking into whether there are references somewhere identifying particularly notable JCCs and perhaps adding such information to "Location"? Incidentally, since that section title suggests that there will be a high level of detail as to the various locations -- and since such a listing would be not only impractical but contrary to other WP guidelines (e.g., isn't there one of "WP is not a directory"?), perhaps a new title would be appropriate, along the lines of "Notable JCCs" (which I realize would itself make an awful section title :). Geographic scope
[edit]The article seems to conflate the "JCC Association of North America" with all JCC branches around the globe. In fact, the organization at the given web site ("jcca.org") appears to have a geographic scope limited to just Canada and the United States, not even Mexico, which is also in North America.
A different organization, called "JCC Global (formerly known as the World Confederation of Jewish Community Centers- WCJCC)" ("jccglobal.org"), appears to be the actual umbrella organization for not only Mexico, but also most other JCC branches around the globe.
Could an established editor with personal knowledge of the relative scopes of the various JCC organizations update the article to reflect the true situation?
