Controversies

[edit]

Why is Abuloy kept putting "controveries" [citation needed] wherein the other church they don't put that. Please. PLEASE. The Info is about the Church not about Brother Eddie Villanueva. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yakuri (talkcontribs) 20:33, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that this should be about the church and not Bro. Eddie though a few sentences on him and a link to the article on him would be appropriate. I also think that having a section on controversies is OK as well, provided that they are significant controversies and not just disagreements over theology, that they are well-sourced, and that the section is only a small part of the overall article. The previous Controversies section was too long and critical and all about Bro Eddie. A sentence or two would be more appropriate. --Bruce Hall (talk) 02:04, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

April 2015 Expansion Comment

[edit]

I'm reluctant to roll back a substantial amount of the edit made today; the editor has put a large amount of work into what is obviously a good faith edit.

However, as it stands, the page has some serious NPoV and peacock word issues, and is straying towards promotional content for the subject in places. If someone with more experience in editing religious subject matter could have a go at cleaning it up, that would be great.

Please change this "Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide (JILCW), commonly known as Jesus Is Lord Church and abbreviated as JIL, is a Charismatic Christian Movement. It was founded and headed by Eddie Villanueva, a former activist and professor, who started JIL with his 15 college students who were members of his bible study group at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 1978. At present, JIL has grown to over 4 million members and has planted churches all over the Philippines and in 55 other countries.[1] Its main office is located at Bocaue, Bulacan, Philippines."

In the Philippines, one Christian Church stands out for the testimony of its phenomenal growth: the Jesus is Lord (JIL) Church Worldwide. JIL Church Spiritual Director and International President Bro. Eddie C. Villanueva started JIL in 1978 with 15 of his former college students; it has now grown its membership in more than 50 countries around the world, evangelizing all peoples of the world through teaching, preaching and living out the full Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
