What is meant by "Indian-African descent"

Knowing that there were large numbers of people from India who moved to mainly East Africa, Kenya and Uganda but also what is now Tanzania, and also to what became South Africa, I am thinking we need to clarify what her maternal ancestry is. Does her mother have ancestry that originates in Africa and in India. Or is her mother descended from Indians who lived for a time on the continent of Africa. With the mass expulsion of all people of Indian descent from Uganda by the Idi Amin regime, the later seems much more likely.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:54, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
