Credit Overkill
[edit]what is with all these credits?, They have to go. The only credits that should be present are the Animaniacs and the Drawn Together credits. If anyone puts up these useless credits, I will personally remove the template. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.244.187.116 (talk) 21:47, August 29, 2007 (UTC)
What's up with this?
[edit]There are spelling errors, and this page is set up incorrectly. Someone please fix this. No one wants to go through a big block of a paragraph just to look at what voice acting work he's done...it should all be in a table or whatever it is called. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.134.227.73 (talk) 02:45, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
"Up" Credit!?
[edit]The article mentions Mr. Harnell voicing "a character" from Disney/Pixar's 2009 "Up". Please specify exactly WHICH character it was... Please...? Don't leave us fanatics hanging!-- Disneyadventurernicholas (talk) 06:09, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Merged Jess Harnell filmography to here
[edit]Note that I have just merged the contents of Jess Harnell filmography back to this article. Under WP:SIZESPLIT, a split off of the filmography was not justified, esp. as the Filmography itself is essentially unsourced.
Now, up above on the Talk page, I notice that there was previously a complaint about the length of the Filmography section. There is a simple solution for that – TRIM the 'Filmography' listings!! For example, any credit that consists of just "Additional voices" can just be cut from the Filmography as it does not qualify at "notable" work (e.g. see WP:Notability). The Filmography can be further cut back to just a 'Select filmography' if that is desired. (Ditto the ' Soundtrack appearances' section.)
It is worth remembering that Wikipedia is NOT IMDb, and we are under no obligation to list every credit an actor has ever gotten – in fact the opposite is true, and we should be restricting ourselves to listing notable roles only. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 17:53, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
"Additional voices" roles should be cut
[edit]As Wikipedia is not the Internet Movie Database, and we are not supposed to list every role a performer has done – only the notable roles – as per WP:NOTDIRECTORY, I am highly included to remove all entries from Jess Harnell's Filmography that consist of simply "Additional voices" as the role (unless the entry is sourced). "Additional voices" roles are akin to a "Featuring guest star" role (i.e. a very minor "walk-on" guest role) on a live-action television series, and thus are basically presumed to be non-notable (unless shown to be otherwise by a source). If there are no objections, I plan to do this in the near future... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 05:42, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
- Done – I have finally removed all "Additional voice(s)" roles from the Filmography. They should never have been included in the first place as per WP:INDISCRIMINATE – Filmographies are only supposed to list notable (i.e. named character) roles. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 01:07, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Pocahontas
[edit]The previous user 65.209.106.242 stated that Jess Harnell did Mel Gibson's stunt singing as John Smith in Pocahontas. The video he/she was talking about is this one here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXGXp3b5Z3U, Harnell himself mentions it at 17:40 towards the end of the video. But unfortunately we can't use youtube as a source and it is not accurate enough to provided the information needed. So therefore I agree, it's best to keep it removed from his filmography section until we can find a reliable source to confirm this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.196.195.138 (talk) 23:17, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
The secret of monkey island(1990)
[edit]The 1990 version of The Secret of Monkey Island, his first listed video game credit, didn't have voice acting. Is that maybe a credit for the 2009 remake? i kan reed (talk) 23:48, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
- Is there anyway to check the credits for the 2009 version?... As it is, I suspect there are a lot of entries in the Filmography like this – either wrong on the facts, or outright fraudulent. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 00:10, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
- bit of an unreliable primary source, but here's a youtube video of the game's credits i kan reed (talk) 18:12, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- and as long as we're doing garbage sources, here's the 1990 original credits No voice credits at all. i kan reed (talk) 18:14, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- I would make the change then. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 18:20, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
