[edit]This article describes Jervis Bay Village as though it were a local government area. The DOTARS webpage on JBT makes it quite clear that the Jervis Bay Administration is responsible for all state and local government services, so this cannot be right. I would be willing to accept that there is some body called the "Jervis Bay Village Council" if a source were given, but it should not be presented as an LGA. Note also that Hyams Beach is in NSW. I would agree. The Territory's website makes reference to Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council, but fails to indicate, in its extensive list of local organisations, any other form of local government. It is not clear whether Wreck Bay can be considered to truly be a local government authority. Skinsmoke 00:10, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Local Government Areas of Australia#Other territories says “[t]he Australian Capital Territory, Jervis Bay Territory and the external territories do not have Local Government Areas distinct from their Territory governments.” Wikipeditor 11:38, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, Wikipeditor. Wikipedia articles shouldn't really be used as sources (the DOTARS webpage is much more authoritative) and I wouldn't completely rule out the existence of something called a "council" that isn't an LGA, but we have not after all this time been provided with any reference for this, I have removed all mentions of a council from the article.
