How'd he die?
[edit]A source on Discogs I believe says he passed away in 1997. But can anybody verify this? I was listening to Raydio songs yesterday. PeterMan844 (talk) 08:01, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's bizarre how there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING else on the Internet mentioning his death! I actually added in a reference to the Discogs site at the end of this article; in fact, if you look at earlier versions of the entry, you can see that somebody claiming to be Ray Parker, Jr. (it seems reasonable that it very well may have been him!) actually stated that he was sad to report that Jerry Knight did indeed die right around Christmastime 1997 of cancer and that he (Ray) actually helped him home from the hospital just before he passed. I guess somebody else didn't think that was a reliable enough source though, so it got removed. Oh well, the search goes on...

- Too bad, I guess. :( ˜˜˜˜ — Preceding unsigned comment added by PeterMan844 (talk • contribs) 08:09, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
- I have seen some YouTube comments also talking about Jerry's untimely passing, and a lot of people mistake Ray as the lead singer on the hit single "Jack & Jill" when it is Jerry (Ray does sing back up). Seemingly, the song was written about Jerry's wife, according to Ray. But the YouTube users probably just saw the Discogs page too. But we need not worry. He will remain in our hearts. Great music will never die. There is no stopping us. No stopping. No-one does it better! Peter A. :-)
