Minor League Manager
[edit]I have been unable to find any solid evidence that this ex-Major League player named Jerry Hurley ever managed in the minor leagues in 1914 or any other year. A later Jerry Hurley, who was born in 1875, did manage for at least half a season (1909) in Class B ball, although even the younger Hurley is not officially listed as a manager in Baseball-Reference.com. This Jerry Hurley, the older one, was quite busy from the 1900 through 1920s with his second career as a civil servant. Timothy Horrigan (talk) 23:09, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- I deleted the claim about being a manager while adding other information. This Jerry Hurley wouldn't have had time to manage a minor league baseball team in 1914. He was in his early 50s, and he was the head of immigration at a major port.
