[edit]Hi I hear "The Per" was hurt or something happened to him in Wildwood. Is he ok? I am an old friend. Age
[edit]I have to question the age. If he was really born in 1940, that means he started on Bandstand at 13 and managed Danny and The Juniors at 16. I think he may be shaving a few years off.InsultComicDog (talk) 13:57, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- The birth date was unsourced. I've removed it. - SummerPhD (talk) 14:31, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- ...and NOW I find the source. If you find any reliable sources disputing his birth info, feel free to add them. - SummerPhD (talk) 14:34, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- One piece checks out. When Dick Clark took over American Bandstand, some people were unhappy. "Clark recalled that the protest leader was a kid named Jerry Blavat — who eventually gained local fame himself as a DJ, the "Geator With the Heater." Blavat, who danced on the old Bandstand show..."[1] A 13 year old dancing on Bandstand works, as does referring to a 13 year old as "a kid". - SummerPhD (talk) 14:48, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Second piece checks out as well. "At age 16, he became the road manager for Danny and the Juniors."[2] If Blavat is "shaving a few years off", he's gotten a lot of reliable sources to go along with him... - SummerPhD (talk) 14:50, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
