Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because...

Jeremy Schoemaker is one of the pioneers of internet marketing. If anything it should be encouraged for someone to do actual research and complete this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.51.221.110 (talk) 23:02, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Jeremy Schoemaker is one of the pioneers of internet marketing." Seriously? That's your argument?

From Wikipedia:Notability: "Wikipedia is not a promotional medium. Self-promotion, paid material, autobiography, and product placement are not valid routes to an encyclopedia article. The barometer of notability is whether people independent of the topic itself (or of its manufacturer, creator, author, inventor, or vendor) have actually considered the topic notable enough that they have written and published non-trivial works of their own that focus upon it – without incentive, promotion, or other influence by people connected to the topic matter."

If you can provide a link to non-trivial works focusing on Jeremy Schoemaker, I'll be impressed - if not convinced. Internet Marketing is a circle-jerk as it is, it doesn't need to spill over into an encyclopedia. DanHoelck (talk) 08:08, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sources that seem to have been missed during the AfD discussion

[edit]

Somebody, not too close to the subject, emailed me this, and I think there may be some merit: "Jeremy Schoemaker mentioned that his Wikipedia article was AfD'ed last month for lack of notability. Ouch. That sucks. I'm surprised. He's quite notable in my opinion. Anything you can do to help him? Here are some articles I dug up using Google & Google News:"

If somebody is interested in writing a proper article or taking this to deletion review (criteria 3), this material might be useful. Jehochman Talk 12:44, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Draft for Article

[edit]

I've posted a draft for this article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Jeremy_Schoemaker/draft

Hopeful someone neutral and uninvolved can review and use it in full or at least in part to update the page. It is heavily cited and sticks to basic fact, nothing more.
