Nous Non Plus

[edit]

Nous Non Plus why is Parzen not mentioned on our no no plus article at all? Off2riorob (talk) 15:57, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering about that, as well. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:02, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Shall we ask User_talk:Jparzen if he knows? Ill ask him. Off2riorob (talk) 16:43, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jeremy Parzen is the guitar player in Nous Non Plus under the pseudonym Cal d'Hommage. All of the players in Nous Non Plus perform under pseudonyms and it is easy to verify that Jeremy is indeed Cal d'Hommage by comparing photographs from the Nous Non Plus website and Jeremy's blog DoBianchi.com.

Well thanks for that, I will have a look, but I am unsure is that would suffice, are the pseudonyms cited on the web any place? To keep this article we are looking for third party sources talking about the subject. Off2riorob (talk) 21:01, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I realize now that it was inappropriate for me to create a Jeremy Parzen entry. I am so sorry about that and for wasting your time. How do I delete it? For the record, Jeremy Parzen (me) is Cal d'Hommage in Nous Non Plus (and it could also be verified by the fact that my name is included in ASCAP and BMI records of songs I've composed for the group). Sorry to waste your time.

  • WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY does states that "Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged, unless your writing has been approved by other editors in the community. Editing a biography about yourself should only be done in clear-cut cases." In this case, you have at least one other editor (me) who approves this article. You're clearly notable, IMO. I'd suggest you not delete it, and let it stand. You've clearly created the article in good faith, and it was clear from the outset that you were writing in this in a non-WP:SOAP tone. If you still wish to delete, let me know and I'll tag if for you. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:29, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it needs deleting, the editor has not done anything wrong, lets try to improve it..Off2riorob (talk) 21:31, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. And the New York Times blog article on Jeremy is particularly notable. WP:BLP does state that "Some newspapers host interactive columns that they call blogs, and these may be acceptable as sources so long as the writers are professionals and the blog is subject to the newspaper's full editorial control." Clearly that's the case here. best, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:35, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've also recreated Do Bianchi as a redirect to Jeremy's bio article. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:40, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, Jeremy will be pleased, thanks. Off2riorob (talk) 21:52, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

wow, thank you for you patience. it's amazing to learn how Wikipedia works and I have to admire the editorial diligence. I am not, however, married to Annette Ezekiel. We were divorced in April 2008 and she remarried, I believe, in September 2008. Here's a link to a recent interview where she speaks at length about her Ukranian husband:

I am looking forward to learning more about Wikipedia and how I can contribute on topics I'm truly knowledgeable about. Thank you again!

Jeremy Parzen 22:57, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to hear about your divorce. If you can post a link here to any third-party source identifying you as Cal d'hommage (living in Quebec, I get the joke) I'd be happy to change the reference. It cannot be pleasant to see the 2003 nuptials story plastered in Wikipedia. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 23:01, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your sympathy. I posted a 3rd-party source that identifies Jeremy Parzen with Cal d'Hommage. I hope that's okay. I'm glad you get the play-on-words. We played a lot of fun shows in Quebec. On another note, the thing that got me interested in Wikipedia is how it has become one of the top sources for information on Italian wine appellation regulations. Do you know of/can you point me to fora where similar topics are discussed? Thank you again for your help.

Sorry, no. Though I have recently heard of this great blog, Do Bianchi. BTW, Jeremy, I see you're still not signing your posts. Did you read the welcome notice on your User talk page? All you need to do is hit the 'tilde' ~ 4 times. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 01:10, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the kind words about Do Bianchi. It's been a thrill to see it so well received.

I have been signing my posts but I'm not sure why it doesn't appear as an active link. I'll try again now. Looks like someone is deleting the Jeremy Parzen entry anyway. Thanks again.
