[edit]I met Jameel in the early 70s, in Yellow Springs,Ohio. He was studying with Cecil Taylor. Taylor had a trio back then which included saxophonist jimmy lyons, and the drummer's last name I can't recall but his first name was Andrew. I am originally from NY and settled in the Lower East Side in the early 80's. Jameel lived in the neighborhood, and we used to see each other often. We even went to a NY Yankee game together with my young son at the time. When he used to travel abroad he would ask me to dog sit his pitbull Buster for him I'm glad he still kickin it.
