Proposing removal of (with Jefferson Starship) from Blows Against the Empire from Kantner's Navbar
Hello,
Paul Kantner's Blows Against the Empire was a solo album recorded with a varied group of musicians who were not the Jefferson Starship that would form four years after the release of Blows Against the Empire, so stating that the album was recorded with Jefferson Starship is untrue and unverifiable. Please note previous discussions on this matter on this page with verifiable sources.Cheryl Fullerton (talk) 23:17, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Hello Cheryl,
I am not sure that this is the correct talk page to discuss Paul Kantner’s Navbar, but here goes. I oppose your suggestion to remove “with Jefferson Starship” from the entry for “Blows Against the Empire” appearing on his Navbar. The album is credited to both Kantner and Jefferson Starship, which is verified by multiple sources that I have discussed earlier. We should maintain that listing here as it is how the album is credited. Both the Jefferson Starship and “Blows Against the Empire” Wikipedia articles explain the use of the name in the context of that album, which serve to disambiguate the uses of the name. Those articles indicate that the co-credit is for the musicians appearing on the album, and that the name was later applied to the band. We should leave the “with Jefferson Starship” on the Kantner Navbar as it is accurate that the album lists it as a co-credit, instead of removing it and incorrectly making it appear as if the album was only credited to Paul Kantner.
