[edit]See Google News Search about this strange story: [1]. Got a splash of widespread news coverage, but may still deserve deletion because Wikipedia is not a newspaper, especially not a sensational tabloid per the policy WP:NOT#NEWS and the essay WP:NOTNEWS. Edison (talk) 05:21, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- Still, he managed at least two caases of substantial coverage in reliable sources at the national level in 2003, was on nthe Senate ballot in 1998, and got this coverage. Edison (talk) 20:20, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Sad day for human intelligence
[edit]...everywhere. How can people be so stupid?

I'm pretty open minded but this case fails to convince me, it's very suspicious that they haven't released any of the alleged footage and even the still looks unconvincing. That said, I think that the media is approaching this as a curiosity rather than a serious news item, or I hope, so I wouldn't lose faith in common sense just yet.
At any rate this article could do with some fine tuning if it's to stay, I'm a bit conflicted as to whether it even warrants a wikipedia article to be honest. Casshernfan (talk) 15:58, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Un-Sourced Text
[edit]This text was removed from the article. It may be added back to the article if reliable sources can be found to substantiate the text.
- After Peckman's announcement a video was posted on YouTube by Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society which demonstrated the ease with which a UFO video can be made. [citation needed] The video was shown on Larry King Live and was mistaken for Peckman's video. [citation needed] A second video appeared weeks later. As of 3 June 2008 there was no official confirmation by Peckman and Romaneck about the videos leaked and the people posting the videos were contacted by the legal firm of Starseed LLC. [citation needed]
Reliable Source?
[edit]Is this a reliable source for this sentence and the article in general? The web page link is on Wiki's spam list, the article is tongue in cheek writing, consists of only a few sentences and looks like a blog. What do others think?
- Peckman attended Maharishi University of Management in Iowa.

- Examiner.com is sort of like a blog. People submit their writing but it isn't reviewed by an editorial board. It isn't considered to be reliable. Will Beback talk 20:01, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

[edit]There is not a single item on this page that indicates notability for Peckman, except as a minor local curiosity. I vote delete. Valetude (talk) 21:07, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
His political escapades were covered extensibly by local and national reliable source press, which often focused on his paranormal beliefs. He is also referenced by Stan Romanek article, who is also notable. I vote keep. Rjmail (talk) 23:52, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
