Republican Campaign Contributions

Regarding this:

According to documents filed with the Federal Elections Commission, Mr. Immelt has made several donations to the Republican Party and various committees of the party.

This link [1] confirms that, and it's significantly more than his contributions to Democrats, but the article fails to mention that he contributes to Democrats and 2/3 of his contributions aren't to specific parties.

For now, I'm thinking we should remove that information, it isn't really needed.-DMCer 15:17, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I feel the information should be provided. That Mr Immelt serves on committees nominated by Pres Obama (D Illinois) muddies the fact that he is a Republican. HIs donation history informs the reader about the general tendency of his particular brand of GOP preferences, and this is critical to describing him completely. There is information on the political preferences of his predecessor in Jack Welch's article. Like Welch, Immelt, the CEO of GE must be prepared to work with both parties and is free to express his preferences. I could not find any confirmation at Pepperdine University of a Commencement Address or conferral of an Honorary Doctorate on April 29, 2006 as originally reported in this article. Data in Article

GE Performance

I tried to verify the claim on 2013 income but could not. I checked GE's published and audited financial statements included in its 2014 SEC Form 10K. The numbers do not match up. Whoever contributed this please verify and comment here or in article as appropriate. This comment posted August 6 2015. If no justification is provided I intent to update the GE Performance section with actual data on Earnings performance from the audited financials before August 15, 2015. Compensation

Immelt's reported compensation under the SEC Proxy rules are shown as the sum of his salary, business, the value of stock options granted and new pension benefits received and miscellaneous items. The annual breakdown is accessible on the GE website in the Investor Relations section or directly from the SEC at www.sec.gov. Each link in the article sends the reader to documentation about the details of the indicated year's compensation breakdown. For the purpose of this article, the details seem less relevant than the total compensation and its wild fluctuation over Immelt's career. Today, August 10, 2015 I am adding more current total compensation information to bring it to 2014 and I am deleting some of the breakdown information originally placed in the article since it is unnecessary and makes the article too long. 96.224.66.19 (talk) 13:11, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
