External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Jabal Jais. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20160127223745/http://www.thenational.ae/article/20090221/TRAVEL/325139345/1087/LIFE to http://www.thenational.ae/article/20090221/TRAVEL/325139345/1087/LIFE
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Jebel Jais and Jebel Bil Ays
[edit]- Although they are on the same mountain, it is of some confusion that they are the same page, particularly as they are in different countries. Could someone with a little more knowledge on the wikipedia best practice please explain if this is correct, or if they should be merged, but this page should be broken down into sub sections on each peak?
- Secondly the name Jabal Al Jais or Jabal Jais or Jebel Jais? Jebel Jais is the most commonly used in every day talking/messaging however Jabal Jais is the page title, and Jebel Al Jais is then used throughout the description. Please help. Ben robbins (talk) 17:31, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- I have made quite a few changes to the page, because no response was ever given to the above point, and over the last couple of years this page has deteriorated. People sources for this appear to be Ras al khamaih tourism, which has really put the name 'jebel jais' out there. This has therefore become the most popular name used for talking about facilities/attractions/features on the rak side of the mountain, however it is not talking about the summit. The summit is actually called jebel bil ais more commonly. The western peak is on the border, and is either called jebel jais or western peak of jebel bil ais. The area a few km west of this geographic point is the tourist development area of 'jebel jais'. There used to the a wikipedia page for this, but they seem to have incorrectly been merged.
- A lot of the points made on this article were clearly made from the perspective of people who have driven to the top of the road only, and have used sources that are unreliable, usually driven by marketing Ben robbins (talk) 12:14, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
Tallest Mountain Claim
[edit]- What is "significant prominence"? Rahrah has very little prominence, 10's of meters at most. Half Tila has hundreds of meters of prominence. Ben robbins (talk) 22:30, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
