@SNUGGUMS, I definitely see where you are coming from in, in any other case, I agree about WP:NOTINHERITED. But there are pages on mothers of American presidents where they had an influence on their lives. In this case, I believe it does. Of course, it can be dived into further and her relationship with Joe Biden can be discussed. He talks about her a lot, more than his father (who, admittedly, I didn't know about the Afd or I wouldn't have written up and there isn't much on him either.) I would love to discuss it further, if its alright with you. She influenced his decision to become VP, she clearly had an influence in his upbringing as he struggled with a stammer and the loss of his first and infant daughter. I think its worth expanding and looking into. Omnis Scientia (talk) 12:05, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough on Joe Sr. AFD. As for Jean, none of these are enough for her to warrant a separate page when little to no attention comes from non-family matters, and WP:WAX regarding other subjects isn't a convincing argument. We'd be better off discussing relationship/influence details in Joe Jr.'s article. How much of that should be explored is debatable. If any credible pieces came up where she was the center focus without largely revolving around son or husband, then I'd say differently. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 12:10, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's fair. Maybe when there is more info in the future this can be expanded. Admittedly, I do also have a bias since I think we don't talk about U.S. president's mothers' roles enough when, arguably, they played a bigger role in the lives of most U.S. presidents than their fathers ever did. Hope you don't mind if this stays up and I can try to expand it? If not, I'll blank and redirect it since I too believe in your rule of "quality over quantity". Omnis Scientia (talk) 12:22, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's best kept as a redirect for now. Should something with more substance on Jean herself come along, we can reassess the matter later. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 16:59, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's fair enough, I would say. Thank you for hearing me out though. :) Omnis Scientia (talk) 17:15, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Redirected article per above discussion. Omnis Scientia (talk) 17:18, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
