Pecorelli List

[edit]

Investigative journalist and a member of the elite Propaganda Due (P2) Freemason Lodge, Carmine “Mino” Pecorelli, Director of L’Osservatorio Politico, a press agency specializing in political scandals and crimes, was murdered on March 20, 1979. Prior to his death he published what became known as the Pecorelli List. It contained the names (including code names) of alleged Freemasons in high level Vatican offices during the reign of Paul VI. Among the prominent prelates identified as Freemasons were Jean Cardinal Villot, whose family is believed to have historic ties to the Rosicrucian Lodge; Agostino Cardinal Casaroli; Ugo Cardinal Poletti; Sebastiano Cardinal Baggio; Joseph Cardinal Suenens; as well as Archbishop Annibale Bugnini, C.M.; and Archbishop Paul Casimir Marcinkus, to name a few.

In regards to the death of Pope John Paul I, Cardinal Villot's story was that Pope John Paul I overdosed on his own medication for low blood pressure (Effortil). This excuse also intentionally left room for speculation of suicide. Whatever happened, Cardinal Villot was at the center of it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.40.24.4 (talk) 14:17, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
