Notability & sourcing
[edit]Rutnam's name showed up on my Glendora watchlist. A few problems with the article. 1. The SGVN is a small, weekly paper; so small that its' website does not list anyone on its staff. 2. The citations provided did not involve the paper. 3. Notability is WP:NOTINHERITED, which means Rutnam does not get a Wikipedia article based on who his relatives are. I've tagged the article with a Notability template. Perhaps the tag will attract editors who can help improve the article. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 16:20, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- S. Rich, As you mentioned there is no name mentioned of its staff in the SGVN website, but a Google Search identifies Jayam Rutnam's with the newspaper and his title as staff reporter. I don't have any idea how I could quote other than the present way, I have sourced on the Page. Please alter if you know any better way.Chandana Jayasinghe(Sri Lanka) (talk) 09:40, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- I'm glad to see you are working on the article. Keep up the good work. However .... the Google search results are a no-go. See external links no #6: search results. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 16:56, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for your encouraging comment. OK, I will find another source to support.Chandana Jayasinghe(Sri Lanka) (talk) 02:05, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
