Introduction

This mobster has faced many challenges in the past and always overcame them. Born as the product from an affair, Jason Morgan Quartermaine was the intelligent, kind, and sensitive son of Dr. Alan Quartermaine and Susan Moore and he planned to become a doctor. However a car accident left him with brain damage and memory loss, he became Jason Morgan, and he worked for mob boss Sonny Corinthos as his enforcer. Over the years Jason's life has been full of tragedy and putting everyone else's happiness before his own.

Birth

Jason Morgan Quartermaine was the biological son of Dr.Alan Quartermaine and Susan Moore, but was later adopted by Alan's wife Monica Quartermaine. Alan and Monica's marriage was seriously on the rocks in 1981. Monica was in love with Rick Webber and wanted to be with him so she rejected Alan and for a while there was uncertainty if her son AJ's father was either Alan or Rick. When Alan found out that AJ was actually his son, he announced it to the public at a fund-raising party at General Hospital in order to humiliate Rick and Monica and Rick left Monica. Monica moved back into the Quartermaine Mansion but she continued to reject Alan and his love for her. Alan had an affair with a woman named Susan Moore. Susan became pregnant and gave birth to a son she named Jason in secret after she temporarily located to New York. Alan chased her down and convinced her to return to Port Charles with him. However he still refused to divorce Monica and marry Susan since he did not want to lose custody of AJ but agreed to financially support Jason. After hearing of this, Monica filed for divorce and sued for custody of little AJ. Alan and Susan were briefly reunited but Alan developed impotency and soon realized that Monica was the only one who turned him on. He moved back into the mansion, but Monica divided it into two different sides for them to occupy and continued to reject him. To aide her in her custody battle, Monica got photos of Alan and Susan together. Alan wanted to reconcile with Monica, but she refused to do so until he cut Susan out of his life. Alan dumped Susan and reunited with Monica.

Susan sued Alan for millions of dollars on behalf of her infant son Jason--and thanks to her lawyer Scott Baldwin, won a million dollar trust fund for Jason but only got $100,000 for herself. Susan became an alcoholic and married Scott Baldwin, who had become lovers with her cousin Heather Webber and wanted control of Jason and his million dollar trust fund and schemed to get it. He planned to share it with Heather after Susan drank herself to death. Meanwhile, Alan decided to sue for sole custody of Jason but but Monica did not want his son in her house.

Eventually Susan met a man named Crane Tolliver. He was Lila Morgan Quartermaine's real husband. Crane and Lila'd divorce had never been finalized which made her marriage to Edward invalid and her children Alan and Tracy were illegitmate. Susan and Crane became money hungry and decided to use this information to their advantage. After Susan and Crane told the Quartermaines the information and blackmailed them with it, Susan demanded two million dollars for Crane and Lila's unsigned divorce papers. Susan also discovered that Scott had tried to steal money from the trust fund thatt was set up for Jason and planned to have him prosecuted for forgery. Someone arrived at Susan's cottage and killed her on the night she had planned to make the exchange with Quartermaines. Edward, Alan, Monica, and Jackie Templeton all arrived at her cottage to find Susan dead on her floor. The Quartermaines, Heather, and Scott were all suspects in her murder, but it was later revealed that Crane had killed her after she attempted to back out of their deal.

After Susan's death, Heather was Susan's only living relative and saw her chance to have control of Jason and his million dollar trust fund. She started to raise Jason since Monica did not want Alan's illigetimate child in her house. The Quartermaines allowed Heather to live in the gatehouse so she could care for Jason and provided the both of them with food, clothes, and money. Eventually her love for Jason became real instead of a ploy to get money. Heather was crushed after Alan and a reluctant Monica sued for and won sole custody of Jason and plotted to get him back. She teamed up with Alan's half-brother Jimmy Lee Holt to get full custody of the baby. Monica changed her mind after she found out if Alan and her did not take Jason in Heather [who Monica's first husband Jeff had had an affair and child with, and who had been released from an insane asylum ]the year before would get custody and decided to allow Alan to bring his son into her house. Alan got Jason and brought him to live in the Quartermaine Mansion.

Early Years

Monica came to love Jason as much as her own son AJ. She later adopted Jason and raised him as her own. His childhood was one of wealth and privilege. He grew up away from the bizarre world of the Quartermaines. He was sent to boarding school in Switzerland with his brother AJ for his education.

Teenage and College Years

Jason Quartermaine was handsome, smart, funny, kind, warm, gentle, serious, mature, and responsible. He was a straight A student and a star athlete, good towards others, devoted to his family, and planned to follow his parents into medicine. His only interest in ELQ was to make sure the company did not hurt the community or the environment in his family's pursuit to stay in business. He was the family favorite and always overshadowed his brother AJ who labeled him " the golden boy" and was jealous of him. AJ's jealousy put a lot of strain on their relationship. However, Jason always helped AJ get through one disaster after another.

In 1991, Jason came home from boarding school and quickly learned how to contend with his big half-brother,AJ, by cutting him a lot of slack. Jason started to attend Port Charles High School and began to work on Dr. Tom Hardy's new volunteer " Teen Hot Line." He barely noticed underclassman Robin Scorpio who had a major crush on him. Jason enjoyed several teenage flings which included Karen Wexler and Brenda Barrett.

Jason and Karen had a lot in common with each other because her mother Rhonda had a drinking problem like AJ did. Jason and Karen agreed to study and started to date. Jason once wanted to impress Karen so he took her out on one of the Quartermaine boats for an afternoon picnic but Jagger Cates snuck on board, a bad storm hit, the boat was destroyed, and the three teens were shipwrecked on a deserted island unaware that escaped convicts Joseph and Cal Atkins were there as well. Joseph and Cal kidnapped Karen and tried to rape her, but Jagger and Jason rescued her and pushed Cal over a cliff to his apparent death. The teens made a pact to keep the incident to themselves and were rescued by Alan, AJ, and Sean but soon were blackmailed by Joseph and Cal. Jason sold some of Edward’s valuable coins in order to get the money and got into trouble with his family. In the end Cal was arrested after a shootout and Joseph was arrested after he kidnapped Bobbie Jones, held her hostage, and tried to rape her. Jason and Karen were crowned King and Queen of the Valentine’s Day Dance but she dumped Jason after Jagger showed up and broke his heart.

Jason was devastated. He mistakenly believed that his father Alan and Karen’s mother Rhonda had an affair. It turned out to be a flirtation only. He started to date Brenda Barrett and went to the prom with her. They almost made love, but stopped before they could. He was able to forgive Jagger and Karen for their betrayal and gave his support to Karen after Brenda told the Quartermaines that she worked as a stripper for Sonny Corinthos. He helped beat her drug addiction, get her away from Sonny, and married to Jagger.

Jason graduated from high school and attended Port Charles University. He majored in mecidine to become a doctor like his father and mother. He also worked at General Hospital part time and had joined the board of a non-profit organization called Charles Street. In 1995, Jason met and began dating Keesha Ward. Edward and Mary Mae did not approve of their relationship at first but after it was revealed that Edward had met Mary Mae during the war, made love to her, got her pregnant, gave birth to a son named Bradley Ward, and Jutus Ward was Bradley's son making him Edward's grandson there were no more objections to their relationship. Once Jason encountered racism when he took Keesha to play tennis at the country club the Quartermaines often went to and learned that it was restricted. Angry at the prejudice, Jason and Keesha left the club. Jason and Keesha later confessed to being virgins to each other and made love for the first time when they visited Paris during spring break. Jason also had to deal with a lot of stress since his mother Monica was diagonsed with breast cancer, his parents adopted Emily Bowen which gave him a sister, he was worried about Brenda who was in love with Sonny Corinthos, he was concerned for his friend Robin Scorpio who had been diagonsed with HIV, he was grieving for his friend Stone Cates who had died of AIDs, and AJ's drinking problems only got worse. He was determined to save his brother AJ from alcohol and it was this determination that would change his life forever.

The Accident

In December 1995, Jason got into a car with AJ in an attempt to prevent him from driving drunk. A few minutes later, AJ drove the car into a tree. Jason was thrown from the car and hit a large boulder. Ned Ashton came upon the scene of the accident and decided to claim that he had been the one driving the car instead of AJ in order to prevent the family from knowing that AJ had been driving drunk again. Jason was rushed to General Hospital and survived surgery but Dr. Tony Jones warned the Quartermaines that neurological damage was likely. Jason remained unconscious until he received a visit from old friend Robin Scorpio. When he woke up from his coma, it was discovered that he had permanent brain damage and memory loss and could not remember who he was, his family, his friends, his girlfriend Keesha, or his life before the accident.

Jason Morgan

After Jason woke up from his coma with permanent brain damage and memory lossin January 1996, he could not remember who he was, his family, his friends, his girlfriend Keesha, or his life before the accident. He could not even remember what his favorite foods once were or the type of clothes he had liked to wear had been.He could not stand to be around anyone from his old life because they looked at him as if they hoped to see a glimmer of recognition in his eyes and were disappointed when they did not. He hated being at the hospital and he hated the Quartermaine Mansion even more. His family worked for the return of their good-natured son but soon found themselves at war with the angry and uncontrollable new Jason who saw them as strangers and was frustrated that they could not accept him for who he was instead of who he used to be. He called them names, insulted them, yelled at them, agrued with them, made it clear their Jason was dead, and started fights with AJ. The Quartermaines soon realized their soon was not coming back and Ned had each family member put one percent of ELQ stock in a trust for Jason so he would be able to support himself in the future. After Edward called the police, had them bring him home, and forbid Jason to drive a car, Jason trashed his bedroom and drove a motorcycle through the Quartermaines' living room. After he reached his breaking point, Jason finally left the Quartermaine Mansion.

After Jason left the Quartermaine Mansion, he pushed his family, friends, and Keesha away, changed his name to Jason Morgan in honor of his grandmother Lila Morgan Quartermaine, and declared that his birthday was the day of the accident instead of the day he was born. He remained close to his grandmother Lila and his sister Emily and could tolerate Ned. Jason first worked as a valet parking cars for Luke and then he got a job on the docks. He met mob boss Sonny Corinthos, became his friend, started to work for him, and began to learn from him. He eventually learned how to control the reckless and destructive ways he had developed because of the accident. Soon Sonny realized Jason was very intelligent and capable and could be trusted after he passed a series of tests despite his brain damage and very literal way of thinking. Jason started as an errand boy and messenger and became second in charge of Sonny's organization. He became Sonny's enforcer and discovered he was good at killing. He became a Roman Catholic because Sonny was a practitioner of that faith, even though Jason Quartermaine had been raised Episcopalian.

Robin and Carly

The only people Jason was comfortable to be around with were his old high school friend Robin Scorpio and mobster Sonny Corinthos. Robin accepted Jason for who he was instead of who he used to be. She was patient and had no expectations. She helped him find his way in a confusing world through a difficult part of his life. The two became friends and their friendship grew into a deep and abiding love. Jason taught Robin how to love her life again after Stone had died of AIDs and she had been diganosed wih HIV and Robin taught Jason how to love. While he was dating and falling in love with Robin, he slept with Carly Roberts. After he took Robin to Montauk and ended their no-name, sex-only affair, she threatened to tell Robin but Jason warned her to keep her mouth shut and told her to stay away from Robin. He told Robin the truth himself and even though she was hurt she forgave him. Robin and Jason had fallen in love and became a couple, but Robin left town in order to attend college at Yale which caused them both heartbreak and made Jason miss her and yearn for her brief visits to Port Charles. Their romance came to an end after Jason was shot and almost killed by the Tin Man in Robon's living room and she had Sonny fire him.Robin told Jason that he had to quit working for Sonny and get another one or she would go attend school in Paris and their relationship would be over. Jason refused to stop working for Sonny because he liked who he was and what he did for a living and feared for her safety. Jason and Robin broke up and after a bittersweet good-bye on their bridge Robin left Port Charles to go attend school in Paris and Jason went back working for Sonny.

After Sonny stood Brenda up at the altar in order to protect her and unexpectedly left town, Jason took over the business. Around this time Carly named Jason as the father of her unborn child. Jason knew it was not true, but when Carly told him the child was the product of a drunken one night stand with AJ he agreed to cover things up and admit he was the father. Carly gave birth to a son and after she left town due to post partum depression Jason had a necessary emergency surgery done to the baby after he suffered from heart problems and took the child into his care. AJ believed that Jason was the father after he saw a blood test which showed that Jason and the baby had the same blood type and Tony swore to get revenge on Jason and Carly.

Edward, Alan, AJ, and Tony tried to kidnap the baby and take it away from Jason after he brought him to Emily's birthday party at the Quartermaine's Mansion but their plan backfired and the Quartermaines lost both Jason and the baby for good. Robin told Jason that she did not believe it was right for him to keep the truth from AJ and pretend to be Michael's father, but she eventually argeed to not interfere with his life. Jason had the baby baptized, named him Michael after his father figure Michael " Sonny" Corinthos, and appointed Sonny's father Mike Corbin as godfather and his sister Emily Quartermaine as godmother. The Quartermaines went crazy after they found out Jason had named the boy after Sonny.Shortly after Tony Jones believed he was Michael's father so he kidnapped him and held him captive in his cabin along with Robin Scorpio after she learned what he had done and confronted him about it. Jason rescued Robin and Micahel and broke Tony's hand in the process which ruined his career as a surgeon. Tony was arrested and put on trial but sentenced to one year of community service so Carly shot him in court and got sent to Ferncliff.

Jason and Robin were still deeply in love. The two got back together and made love for the first time after Robin found out he had survived the plane crash and told him she had learned how to accept his dangerous lifestyle and only wanted to be with him. Jason and After a bomb went off in his car that nearly killed Robin, Jason decided to leave the business in order to keep Robin and Michael safe and met with his enemy Monreo in order to retire. Jason became a mechanic, Robin started to take classes at Port Charles University, and Jason and Robin moved into Brenda's old cottage with Michael. Jason and Robin were happy and raised Michael as a family together for a while.

Jason used his influence to get Carly get released from Ferncliff and she moved into the cottage with Jason, Robin, and Michael. Robin and Carly hated each other, called each other names,insulted each other, yelled at each other, agrued,and could not get along. Robin went to AJ and told him the truth about him being Michael's father to get back at Carly. Jason and Robin broke up in 1999 and Robin left Port Charles and went back to Paris to attend school. Jason became Sonny's mob enforcer once again and the two decided to import coffee. AJ wanted Michael so Jason and Carly planned to leave the counrty and go on the run with Michael but Carly changed her mind and came up with a plan where she would marry AJ, get him to become a drunk, divorce him, and sue for full custody of Michael so she could return to live Jason. AJ and Carly got married and Alexis Davis represented Jason at Michael's custody battle. Jason came to hate AJ and feared that his anger and hostility towards AJ would upset Michael so he gave up all his rights to AJ and Carly.He saved Elizabeth Webber's life at Jakes, became friends with herm teamed up with Carly to prove Sonny's girlfriend Hannah Scott was an FBI agent out to get him, took care of Sonny after he had a nervous breakdon, was betrayed by Sonny and Carly who made love together, got shot and collasped in the snow, and Elizabeth nursed him back to heatlh.

Jason could not handle Sonny and Carly's betrayal and felt that the people he loved were in danger as long as he was in Port Charles. Carly also drove him crazy with her attempts to get back into his good graces. He decided to leave town and told Sonny his plans. He said good-bye to Sonny,Monica, Emily, Lila, Elizabeth, and Micahel, told Carly they would never work out, gave all of his assests for Michael to Sonny , and left town on his motorcycle.

Visits Home

Jason came to Carly's rescue once again even though he was not in town and was furious at her. He tracked down the arsonist who burned down one of Sonny and his warehouses and found out who he was and that AJ had hired him to do it. He called Sonny and gave him told him. Sonny used this information to force AJ to grant Carly a divorce and give up all his rights to Michael.

Jason returned to Port Charles for a visit in August 2000. He found Emily after she was kidnapped, held hostage, and dragged to the Canadian border against her will by Zander Smith and returned her safely to the Quartermaines. He also grew closer to his mother Monica and his friend Elizabeth. Jason and Lucky came to hate each other due to Lucky's jealousy over Jason and called each other names, insulted each other, yelled at each other, and argued whenever they crossed paths with each other. Jason was a witness at Sonny and Carly's wedding and gave them his blessing. He told them he had forgiven them and if they were in love he wanted them to be together which caused Sonny and Carly's friendship with Jason to strengthen. Shortly after Jason again left Port Charles.

Jason returned to Port Charles in February 2001 in order to help Sonny take down Sorel. He asked Elizabeth to let him hid out in her art studio during his first days back in town and asked her not to tell Lucky and she agreed. She brought him food and the two talked, listened to each other, and gave each other advice. Elizabeth told him about her problems. She did not want to be a model for Laura Spencer's company but felt obligated to.Jason and Elizabeth realized they had very strong feelings for each other and Jason asked her to leave town and come away with him but she refused because she felt she had to stay with Lucky. She broke Jason's heart and Jason left town shortly after in order to hide from Sorel.

Elizabeth

Jason returned to town a year later after Sorel was dead and immediately fell back into his old ways. He ran into AJ and the two called each other names, insulted each other, yelled at each other, argued, and Jason warned him to stay away from Carly and Micahel or else. Later on he found out Carly had faked her car accident and death in order to punish Sonny after he slept with Alexis and get him back and warned her to tell Sonny the truth or he would. He also beat up Zander Smith on Sonny's orders after Zander told information about Sonny's organization to one of Sonny's enemies. He also warned Sonny that Alexis was pregnant. Sonny and Carly got remarried and Jason moved into the penthouse across the hall from them. He began to date Elizabeth but pushed her away after she got kidnapped, held hostage, and almost died in a crypt along with Zander Smith and accidentally got shot in the arm due to a fight between Jason and Zander for her protection and so Carly would leave Elizabeth alone. Jason was hurt after Elizabeth started to date Zander and slept with him and nearly helped them flee town after Sonny put a hit on Zander but he changed his mind in the end. Elizabeth refused to give up on Jason and told him she accepted him for who he was and what he did for a living and wanted to be with them. The two kissed and planned to start a relationship together but after Elizabeth found out he had lied to her about helping Sonny faking his death and kidnapping and holding hostage a thought to be dead Brenda Barrett she became sick and tired of the mob and walked out on Jason.

Marriage to Brenda

Jason and Brenda hated each other and called each other names, insulted each other, yelled at each other, and argued whenever they crossed each others' paths but after a plane crash stranded them in the middle of nowhere and forced them to get along and cooperate in order to surive in May 1998 the two were civil towards each other. In September 2002 after Sonny was shot and thought to be dead by Roy Delicua in the rain in front of St. Timothy's church, Jason kidnapped Brenda and held her hostage in one of Sonny's safehouses in order to keep her safe from Luis Alcazar, prevent her from warning Jasper Jacks, and so no one would find out she was alive. Jason and Brenda talked to each other, Jason brought her food, clothes, and the pills she needed to take while she was in his captivity, and Jason comforted her after she had nightmares of Sonny. Brenda knocked out one of her guards and escaped in order to warn Jax but Jason caught her and had bars put on her windows. Brenda escaped again and Jason almost caught her again several times but in the end she convinced him to let her go and have her call him if she had a problem. Jason and Brenda got married in Los Vegas so Jason could take care of her and commit her when the time came and keep her away from Sonny and Jax. Brenda moved into Jason's penthouse with him and put food in his fridge, used his money to buy clothes and jewelry, redocrated his penhouse, visited Jax in the hospital, and did her best to torture Jason by keeping her promise to the Quartermaines to bring Jason back into the family. Jason stood by her at Luis Alcazar's trial, helped her pass out candy at Halloween, and rescued her from Luis Alcazar after he kidnapped her and dragged her to Venezula. Jason and Brenda were arrested and put on trial for the murder of Luis Alcazar where the two defended each other and refused to back out on each other in a chance for their own freedom. The two were found guilty but the charges were dropped and it was later revealed that their own lawyer Alexis Davis was the real killer. Jason and Brenda's marriage was later annulled and Brenda comforted Jason after he broke up with Courntey Matthews and Jason comforted Brenda after Jax jilted her at the altar. Jason helped Brenda go back to Europe and in the end the two realized they had accepted each other for who they were, liked, respected, and trusted each other, and had become friends.

Courtney

Jason met Courtney Matthews at Kelly's when she was the waitress there who waited on him and found out from AJ that she was Sonny's half-sister and AJ's wife. Courtney did not like Jason at first because of all the things AJ had told her about him and she despised all part of the mob but before she knew it she accepted Jason for who he was and ran to talk to him, have him listen to her, and give her advice for her problems. Shortly after Sonny ordered Jason to guard her and keep her safe while she worked as a stripper as a stripper for Coleman at the Oasis to pay him back for the damages AJ caused when he drove into it drunk. Eventually Sonny showed AJ what Courntey was doing when he went near Michael and Jason forced Coleman to let Courtney go, took Courtney home, saved AJ's life from a fire he caused while drunk to torch the Oasis, and got AJ off on arson charges. Jason later protected Courtney after she was stalked and helped her find out her stalker was which later turned out to be her husband AJ. Jason and Courtney started to like each other and became friends. The two fell in love and slept together for the first time after Courtney made Jason a " thank you" dinner. Jason and Courtney became a couple, rented a loft, and put food, clothes, and belongings in it so they could meet in secret because they were afaird of Sonny's disapproval, Jason's suprise marriage to Brenda, and Jason and Brenda had been put on trial for the murder of Luis Alcazar. Later Jason and Courtney decided to tell Sonny and Carly the truth about their relationship but the two of them got into a car accident on the way there and Jason nearly died and Elizabeth and Ric told Sonny the two had gone off to enlope. Sonny was furious and made Jason break up with Courtney.

After Sonny finally accepted their relationship, Jason and Courntey became enganged and planned to get married but on their wedding day Ric Lansing drugged and kidnapped Carly which caused them to have to postpone it. Sonny and Jason did everything they could to look for Carly but Sonny refused to believe Jason that Ric did it unaware that Jason was right. Ric had kidnapped Carly, held her hostage in the panic room where he gave her food, clothing, a place to sleep, and vitamins, chained her to the wall, planned to steal her baby and give it to Elizabeth, and then kill her. Sonny and Jason discovered what Ric had done and Jason kidnapped him, held him hostage, put him in the panic room, faked Ric's death to please Lorenzo Alcazar, and moved Ric to Sonny's penthouse and then a safe house. Meanwhile Courtney discovered that she was pregnant, but kept quiet about it.When Jason, Sonny, and Ric went to South America to rescue Carly, Courtney followed them. Lorenzo Alcazar found her, kidnapped her, and held her hostage in which he demanded an exchange: Courtney for Carly. Jason and Sonny reluctantly left Courtney behind and returned home with Carly. Lorenzo moved Courtney to his yacht. Courtney then escaped and miscarried in the process. Lorenzo got Courtney addicted to pain killers which caused her to call Jason names, insult him, yell at him, and agrue with him over his inabilty to grieve for a bay he did not know existed, made her believe Jason would leave her for Elizabeth after she saw Jason and her comforting each other when they both thought Emily would die of breast cancer, and caused her to hit Elizabeth with her car, but Lornezo Alcazar and Carly covered it up and Elizabeth forgave Courtney.

Jason and Courtney finally got married during a trip to France. Jason and Courtney were forced to take care of Sonny and Carly's children after Sonny shot Carly in the head during the birth of her second child. The boy was named Morgan Stone Corinthos in honor of Jason Morgan and Jason and Courtney were appointed as the boys' godparents. After the dangerous life of Jason finally became too much for Courtney to handle she realized she could not accept Jason for who he was and what he did for a living no matter how much she loved him and walked out on Jason after he refused to stop Sonny from killing Lorenzo Alcazar. The two seperated and Courtney grew closer to Detective Brian Beck who hated Jason and wanted to destroy him.

When Courtney purchased the pier property that Sonny and Jason shipped through, she refused to allow mon dealings on her property. She quickly realized it would not work and sold her property to Lorenzo Alcazar. Jason felt betrayed by her decision, but still had hopes of a reconciliation. Courtney made a final romantic dinner for Jason and the two planned to sign their divorce papers and end their marriage but Jason and Courtney decided to give their marriage another chance and reconicled. However their reunion was short because Courtney betrayed Jason after she chose to knock him out in order to save Lorenzo Alcazar's life from certain death by Jason's hand and called the cops on Sonny. Jason called her names, insulted her, yelled at her, argued with her, signed their divorce papers, handed them to her, and sent her away from the penthouse. Jason and Courtney got divorced but Jason later confessed to her that he still loved her and her vice-versa. Years later it was revealed that Courntey had never divorced AJ so her marriage to Jason had been invalid.

Sam

Jason met Samatha McCall for the first time in the PCPD after the two of them had been arrested for aiding and abetting wanted fugitive Sonny Corinthos and put in the same interrogation room so his presence would scare Sam in December 2003. Jason and Sam told each other their names and after Jason explained the situation to her Sam refused to press charges against Sonny for kidnapping her and holding her hostage or testify against him at his trial. Jason thanked her and promised to pay for her bail and get her the best lawyer money could get which satisifed Sam. Then Jax barged in and ordered the police to get Jason away from Sam which they did. Jason got his cousin Jutus Ward to defend Sonny and neither Sam nor Jason testified against him at his trial. The jury found Sonny not guilty for the attempted murder of Lorenzo Alcazar. Jason did not cross paths again with Sam until he walked in on Sonny at his room in the Port Charles Hotel to inform him that Courtney had shot Brian Beck in the back in order to protect him and found him in bed with Sam. Sonny began to have an affair with Sam after he saw Carly kiss Lorenzo Alcazar good-bye while still under the effects of drugs Faith paid police to give her when she was at Ferncliff and told Jason his marriage to Carly was over. Carly found Sonny having sex with Sam so she began to sleep with Lorenzo and have an affair with him. Sonny and Carly filed for divorce and both planned to sue for sole custody of Michael and Morgan but Sonny tried to keep Carly away from the boys until then and went so far as to have a restraining order placed against her, had her arrested when she broke it, and threatened to kill her. Jason tried to pay Sam a million dollars to dump Sonny and leave town but she refused and Jason warned her that her affair with his boss would not last forever and he would return to Carly and forget all about her.

Sam found out she was pregnant with Sonny's baby but did not tell anyone and planned to get an abortion. Emily found out and warned her brother who confronted Sam and forced her to tell Sonny the truth. Sam was not sure whether Jax or Sonny was the father and planned to have a paternity test done but after she found out both men wanted to take her child away from her she ran away, planned to give her baby up for adoption at a covent,and nearly miscarried after she fell down stairs in a confrontation betweeen Sonny, Jax,and Jason who had tracked her down and found her. Jason found out that Sonny was the father of Sam's baby, switched the paternity test results around to make him look like the father, and argeed to play the role of the father to the baby to protect Sonny who was aware of the truth. Sam moved into Jason's penthouse and Jason and Sam almost got married , but Sam bailed at the last minute and ran off. Jason went to find her and this time she agreed to move in with Jason on her own.

After his grandmother Lila died , Sam comforted him and saked if he would mind her naming her baby Lila in honor of his grandmother which made Jason happy. Jason went to see the Quartemaines to comfort them and share his grief. Edward touched Jason's face and told him that out all of all the Quartermaines he reminded him of Lila the most because he had her eyes and her strength and determination and was thankful he never got himself thrown in jail or killed while she had lived. Later Jason brought Micahel to see the Quartermaines and Edward told the two of them many stories about Lila. Jason saw Robin again for the first time in years at Lila'a funeral and a peace seemed to settle between them because Jason and her had a nice conversation and Jason thanked her for showing him how important family really was. Jason was so sad about Lila's death that when it was his turn to speak he could not say anything and froze.

Jason and Sam began to accept each other for who they were and begin to like each other and trust and respect each other. They became friends. As the birth time grew closer, Jason and Sam grew closer as a couple.

Sonny tried to convince Sam to induce labor early so that the baby's stem cells could cure his other daughter Kristina of leukemia. Alexis also tried to get Sam to induce labor but Sam refused because she felt the risks were too high. Alexis called her names, insulted her, yelled at her, argued with her, and tried to forcefully drag her to see her daughter to change her mind. Sam was about to tell Alexis she would agree to do it but she collapsed and was rushed to General Hospital where her baby girl was borm stillborn. Jason called Alexis names, insulted her, yelled at her, agrued with her, refused to let her near Sam, was the first person to hold Sam's little girl, and comforted Sonny in his grief. When Sam awoke and learned of her baby's death she was inconsolable but Jason stood by, helped her grief, and helped her understand that the baby's death was no body's fault and the baby's life had meant something since it helped safe Kristina's.
