Why is his picture sideways?
That's all. I can't figure out how to fix it.

Gay Freshman?
What does the following line mean? "He is the first openly gay man elected to the House as a freshman." Does it mean that he was openly gay the first time he ran for office? If I've understood it correctly, presumably this means that other gay congressmen/women only game out after being elected. 'Freshman' is a term that seems to be particular to North America so I'm not really sure what it means in this context. Could somebody please expalin. Thanks. SOPA/PIPA
Kinzox (talk) 00:11, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Just thought it could be included his thoughts on the SOPA/PIPA acts and the fact that he told them on the League of Legends (an online game) forums, after Riot (the company that made the game) made a statement about it. Here's the link to Jared's initial post on the subject on the forums http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=19572246&highlight=#post19572246 and here is the search posts by user link to his posts on the thread http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/search.php?do=process&searchuser=Rep%20Jared%20Polis&showposts=1&starteronly=0
Sorry I didn't do it myself, for one I have no idea how to do it correctly, and also I wasn't sure if it was relevant enough to include in his article. Sorry for my english too.
Colorado Residence, Net Worth
I would like to know when he moved to Colorado.
The net worth of other very wealthy people is usually listed in their articles. His most recently calculated net worth, at least, should be included, too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waterflaws (talk • contribs) 16:03, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Number of kids
His number of children is wrong, he only has one currently, according to the source, not two. Can't update the page because semi-protected.

proposed addition under 'Philanthropic career': "Mr. Polis donates all of his congressional salary to charity." SOURCE(fourth paragraph): http://www.denverpost.com/politics/ci_24357310/three-colorados-congressmen-give-shutdown-salary-charity 75.171.152.3 (talk) 01:42, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- Not done: What the source says is not that he does this, but that his staff say that he normally does this. The Denver Post is reliable, but in this case it is reporting a biassed source, so there is risk of advocacy. I'm also concerned about that "normally". --Stfg (talk) 09:53, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

"By a landslide"
The 2018 gubernatorial race wasn't that close, yes, but does an 11 point margin count as a landslide? I get that it's a large-ish swing, but usually when I see landslide victory invoked, we're talking winning by a 2:1 margin or something. A landslide is "when one candidate or party receives an overwhelming majority of the votes or seats in the elected body, thus all but utterly eliminating the opponents." Thoughts? TheSavageNorwegian 08:40, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- After some additional research, it seems like the term landslide is reserved for a result that is significantly larger than what was expected. In light of that it makes a bit more sense to call this a landslide, since previous gubernatorial races had much smaller margins. Still not sure if we should leave it though. TheSavageNorwegian 18:54, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- I suggest including a footnote.[a] Gleeanon409 (talk) 19:05, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- ^ The term ‘landslide’ is used here in the traditional sense for a result that is significantly larger than what was expected.

Conflicting info about networth
At the top of page it says: "and was the third-wealthiest member of the United States Congress, with an estimated net worth of $122.6 million" but than further under the Business career section it say: "During his tenure in Congress, Polis was among its wealthiest members; his net worth was estimated at over $300 million". I suggest it be changed so that there is no conflicting info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.226.179.58 (talk) 14:19, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
