Notability

[edit]

The subject is a full Professor (of physics, at RMIT University, Australia) so I believe fulfills Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Does anyone disagree, or could we remove the notability tag? See bio page on RMIT website: https://www.rmit.edu.au/contact/staff-contacts/academic-staff/c/cole-professor-jared

I created this page. I know Professor Cole and have worked with him (which might be why someone has put a COI issue tag on this page), although I am not at RMIT, which is his employer. I do not think the page is biased though. It's very factual, and all listed facts are linked to sources. If this is ok, can we remove the COI tag?

This is my first 'talk' post so apologies for any errors or poor etiquette! Errolhunt (talk) 05:48, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

None of the current sources establish notability, only existence. They might be OK for verification but does nothing for notability imo. Regarding COI, as you have already disclosed your connection with the subject, the article must be reviewed by an uninvolved editor to ensure the neutrality before the tag is removed. Also, please see WP:DCOI to disclose your COI properly. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 07:16, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have looked into the subject matter and believe it is truthful 180.150.38.93 (talk) 04:03, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Only thing that may need adjustment is the patent numbers. I believe only 1 has been granted, the remainder are published - so as to what establishes holding a patent is up for debate. 180.150.38.93 (talk) 04:05, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
