Accidentally hit the enter key early on this edit, so here's what my edit summary would've said (pinging Popcornfud since it was an undo of their edit):

Don't think "longtime producer" is inappropriate phrasing here; the lead of Godrich's article emphasizes the amount of work they've done together and I think it's fair to reflect that here. Editing the quote to elide just two words seems pointless and potentially confusing to me; it's better to keep the whole quote so that it's clear just what is being said.

It's unnecessary. If we describe him as "the Radiohead producer" that already indicates that he's not just a guy they brought in for one album at one point, it's more like a full-time position, like saying "the Radiohead drummer".
And besides Radiohead is not the focus of the article and the length of Godrich's work with Radiohead isn't critical info for the lead here, stay on target. Popcornfud (talk) 16:07, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
