Correction / Changes

I'm not good at writing, I wanted to point out a mistake that I found on the article itself

"Romanized Japanese, called rōmaji, is frequently used by foreign students of Japanese who have not yet mastered the three main scripts, and by native speakers for computer input."

In this phrase it states that students use romaji if they haven't mastered the three main scripts, but it's only used prior to learning hiragana and katakana, not kanji. Additionally, I find "and by native speakers for computer input" to be ambiguous since it implies that natives use romaji to type on the computer yet, you can use any form of writing on it, even in urls (they do validate). Programming for the most part is done in english however. So I would suggest something on the lines of "and by native speakers for computer programming" if it's really necessary in the article.

Lastly, I can't help but notice that the dates and centuries change from one wiki to another. Sometimes it states that kanji was introduced in the 4th century, sometimes in the 5th etc... For your first suggestion, how about we add "most frequently used" so that it's clear we're talking about the most common usage. Romaji is still used by Japanese natives for other things like signage or even emphasis in writing. Can find it in song an movie titles often too. But the primary use is for computer input and Japanese learners.

Can you be more specific exactly where the issue is with the introduction of kanji? When you say other wikis, do you mean other language wikis? EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 17:33, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
